We are thrilled to celebrate four families who finalized their adoptions this month. The court hearing simply makes the adoption legally official, but the love these families already established occurred when their baby was placed in their arms. We are thrilled for our families and congratulations to them on their finalization hearings!
September is a month filled with special opportunities to celebrate the people who make our families strong. In September Grandparents Day, National Daughter’s Day and National Son’s Day were all recognized. Grandparents honor the wisdom, love and support of the family. National Daughter's Day and National Son's Day recognize the unique joys children bring to our lives.
These observances remind us to cherish the relationships that shape our families. Whether connected by birth, adoption, or cherished bonds formed along life's journey, family is built through love, commitment, and shared experiences. Not just in September, but all year, we encourage everyone to take a moment to celebrate the grandparents, daughters, and sons who make their family story so meaningful.

On a bright sunny Sunday, Adoption Circle had their annual picnic. It was a wonderful celebration of connection, community, and fun! This year's 90's-themed event brought families together for an afternoon filled with laughter, including a dance contest, 90's trivia, Pac-Man cookie decorating, temporary tattoos, bubbles, and plenty of opportunities to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones.

One of the highlights of the day was welcoming one of our adult adoptees and her fiancé. Seeing her return to celebrate with us was a beautiful reminder of the lifelong impact of adoption and the enduring connections that are formed along the way.
As we gathered with families whose stories have intertwined with Adoption Circle over the past 35 years, we were reminded that adoption is more than a moment in time. It is a community built on love, support, and lasting relationships. We are grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make this year's picnic such a memorable celebration of family and connection.

World Mental Health Day, observed each year on October 10, is a reminder that mental health is just as important as physical health. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, more than 1 in 5 American adults experience a mental illness each year, affecting approximately 59.3 million people nationwide. Common mental health conditions include anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and substance use disorders.
At Adoption Circle, we recognize that many of the women and mothers we serve face significant mental health challenges due to difficult life circumstances. Feelings of hopelessness, homelessness, financial hardship, food insecurity, unstable housing, trauma, and lack of support can have a profound impact on emotional well-being. These challenges can lead to increased stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.
If you or someone you know is experiencing mental health difficulties, help is available. Resources include the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988), the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), as well as local mental health providers, community health centers, support groups, and crisis intervention services. Seeking help is a sign of strength, and no one should face mental health challenges alone. By raising awareness, reducing stigma, and supporting one another, we can help create healthier and more hopeful communities for all.
We are looking forward to seeing the events of October. Hope to see all of our littles' Halloween outfits.
